Summertime
Make the most of the rest of it. If it’s too hot for you, go see Heath in one of his last flicks. I don’t know about you, but I’ve got two weddings down and three still to go. I’m not sure I can steam the next kilt in time for the festivities.

Do the Do
Speaking of weddings (as we are oft to do), the Massachusetts Senate has voted to repeal a 1913 law used to bar same-sex couples, from states that would not recognize their marriages, from marrying in Massachusetts.

365Gay.com
According to 365Gay.com, an analysis by the state Office of Housing and Economic Development found repealing the law would draw thousands of couples to assachusetts, boosting the economy by $111 million, creating 330 jobs and generating $5 million in taxes and fees, over three years. Devil Patrick is in office now, not Mitt Romney, so if the bill passes, it will get signed.

Ban Ban
As the citizens of the world begin to evolve into a global society, people in faraway lands have become a bit more accessible. We can communicate with people in other countries and sometimes we even meet them for a visit. It may or may not surprise you that a
certain segment of the world population has not been allowed to visit the US for two decades.

A ban on people with HIV visiting or immigrating to the US might be lifted soon. Senator John Kerry (Mass) and Senator Gordon Smith (Oregon) are trying to repeal the ban. There is still some opposition in congress. The last three presidents, including the current one, have tried to ease the policy.

Down & Doggie
The dog days are almost over. The dog days span July 3rd to August 11th. The Sirius Star known as “The Dog Star” rises into view at this time. Humans tend to get a bit sluggish and out of whack when this happens. Doggies have been known to get especially crazy and start howling at the moon. Perhaps that is what us humans should do when we are feeling a bit overheated and crazed. It could help. Get Sirius and try howling at the moon.
